All our boards are fitted with reverse polarity protection diodes. This is can be especially useful for students and can reduce the chance of damaged circuits.
The power jack takes the popular 2.1x5.5mm plug.
Although well filtered, due to the very low voltages audio voltages being measured we recommend the use of a linear bench power supply. Some switch mode "wall warts" are quite noisy and we do not advise using them.
The supply voltage can range from 15 to 25VDC with the center pin being positive.
The current draw (less than 20ma) is low enough for operation from two 9 volt batteries wired in series. This would ensure a virtually noise free power source.
